craziest week ever

Monday, October 20Th 2008 Started off like any other day, there were a few odd things that were just a bit different, for example, at 7:20a.m. my Girlfriend was driving to work and was completely overwhelmed she said she started to cry uncontrollably and felt compelled to pray! She Pulled over on the side of the road and just started praying, she didn't know who or what for, but she prayed, about 10 minutes later she started to feel better and continued on to work.

At 7:50 a.m., Zack was waiting to cross the road next to School, a man in a car stopped at the cross walk to let him walk across, Zack was half way across when a woman came speeding out of the school parking lot (35 mph) and ran right over him. He smashed the front driver side headlight, hood and pushed the front quarter panel back. He flew through the air and hit the road and slid under the car that had been waiting for him to walk across! He Knew he was under a car so he crawled out from under it , by this time the man was out of his car trying to help Zack, he called 911 and many students had also seen the accident and ran to tell the principle.

Steve and I were then called, by the time we arrived, the first responders were there, and all we could do was watch as our boy was laying there in shock, cut up from head to toe, I didn't know what to do so I took pictures, I started Planning the scrapbook Page for his book! It helped to keep my mind somewhere else. Looking at Zack on the ground was very scary. They thought maybe he had broken ribs, broken leg, something was wrong with his spine, and his pelvis might be broken, the list went on, they strapped him to the hard board, they wanted to take no chances. They got him in the ambulance I rode with him, I finally got a hold of my mom to tell her what had happened, that helped so much! Steve then went home and got Brett and her friend (our "other" daughter) to bring them to the hospital.

Steve then called a few friends and family members to inform them of the events one of the people he called was our good friend, ken, who's wife was the one who had been praying!, Ken called the church, set a prayer chain in motion, the church called the pastor, found him already at children's hospital! when the ambulance arrived, there was pastor Jay, waiting for us.!He came in the room with us, Said a prayer of thanks that Zack was alive, Zack then went for x-rays to see how badly his knee was broken, and how many ribs here cracked, and to check on his pelvic bones! the first x-rays came back clear, they had a few more worries about his spine that didn't look good on the first set of x-rays, so they sent him for a cat scan, Pastor Jay then prayed again for that! the cat scans came back clear, NOTHING was wrong with Zack except for very big bruises, and large scrapes all over his body!!!
They released him that afternoon, he came home very sore, and bruised, but in very good spirits. I know there were so many people and GOD and his Guarding Angel were soooo looking out for him that day!

I'll tell you the rest of the week later, got to go!
Love Billie
